Several months ago, Barry Price stunned the SLM by announcing his retirement from modeling. He wanted to donate his models to either The Don Garlits Museum of Drag Racing, or NHRA's Wally Parks Motorsports Museum. Eventually, we were able to get in touch with Garlits. While 'Big' said he'd like to have them, his response was less than enthusiastic. In the meantime, Barry had been in contact with Greg Sharp, the curator at the NHRA museum. Greg was excited about obtainig Barry's wonderful collection of historic drag racing models--quite probably the most thorough representation, in scale, of drag racing's history.

Barry packed his models, and sent them across the Atlantic ocean and across the United States to Pomona, California. Understandably, during such a long journey, some of the Models were damaged. As luck would have it, our own "Doc" Marc Weller was called upon to repair the damaged replicas. Marc has been kind enough to take some photos of each model as he finishes the repairs. We are proud to present Doc Weller's photos of Barry Price's excellent handiwork!
